About Us

This is the story of our family’s commitment to the land, our connection to its beauty, wildlife, crops, heritage, traditions, and the future. The land of living skies. Our family’s farming tradition began with the Lingenfelder Winery, established in 1520 in Großkarlbach, Germany, now operated by Rainer Lingenfelder.

In 1915, our grandfather, Sebastian Lingenfelter, moved from the U.S. to Saskatchewan, Canada, and started farming in the southwest near Simmie. He homesteaded at SE 15 - 11 - 17 W3RD. Sebastian passed away in 1918 from the flu, leaving his son Robert Lingenfelter, who married Veronica Harty, the daughter of Irish immigrants.

Our Present and Future

The current president and CEO of CypressView Land, one of Robert and Veronica’s nine children, began farming. Rubiela, a lawyer from Bogotá, Colombia, married Dwain Lingenfelter in Calgary. They have five children and live at the CypressView headquarters. Today, CypressView Land and Cattle Corp. operates a successful farm in western Canada, raising black Angus cattle near Cypress Hills and Shaunavon.
