ELK RIDGE FARM

This is the fastest growing unit of CypressView Land. Five years ago CypressView Land made the decision, based on the evidence of global warming, that it was in the best interest of CypressView Land's long term development to move as far north as possible in Saskatchewan’s grain belt to establish a center for canola production.

With the help of realtor and former member of the Saskatchewan’s Legislative Assembly, Jack  Langford, CypressView Land put together a package of beautiful farms on the east side of number 2 highway about 25 miles south of Waskesiu National Park.

The commercial center of this community is the village of Paddockwood Saskatchewan. The bulk of the land came from the acquisition of 2 companies owned by Leo and Louise Gignac and several of their neighbours including David and Bonnie Griffin, and part of the Petruk farm.

Today, this is our most productive canola farm. We believe that with a warming climate will come a longer growing season, more frost free days, more heat units and even greater canola production then we have already achieved.

One of the big advantages at the Elk Ridge Farm is the close proximity to the Bunge Canada's canola processing plant near Nipawin in Saskatchewan. The Bunge Canada plant is located 90 minutes east of our Elk Ridge Farm on # 55 highway which is an excellent heavy haul highway.

This farm is jointly managed with Monette Farms, Wes Detilleaux and the Lavoie family, with advice and help from Leo and Louise Gignac and David and Bonnie Griffin.
