Rubiela Lingenfelter was born in Colombia and spent her early years on a ranch/farm in rural Colombia near the town of Fortul, north east of Bogota, in the department of Arauca. At the age of 10 years old she and her family moved to Bucaramanga, department of Santander. Rubiela's father continued to farm cacao and plantain.

 

Rubiela graduated from Jose Elias Puyana High School and also did a technical career in accounting systems in Bucaramanga. Following the completion of her high school and accounting systems studies she moved to Bogota where she worked and attended university. She graduated from Universidad Catolica de Colombia in Bogota with a degree in law. 

 

In 1996 she became employed by Nexen Energy in Colombia where she became the treasurer of the company. While working at Nexen Energy's Bogota office she and Dwain Lingenfelter met for the first time. They were later married in Calgary, where they began their home. In 2005 Rubiela took on the responsibility of Executive Director at CypressView Land. In 2009 they moved with their family to Saskatchewan and now make their home at the headquarters of CypressView.

Together they have five children, Sacha in Regina, Matthew in Calgary, Travis in Regina, Link in Shaunavon and Hannah in Saskatoon.
